Asian Karate Championship / Four golds in the hands of Iran’s hopes


According to IRNA; The 2021 Asian Karate Championship in all age categories (teenagers, youth, hope and adults) in two categories of kata and committee has started on Saturday, hosted by Almaty, Kazakhstan, and our country’s representatives have gone against their opponents. Today, Monday, the adult kata (form performance) and committee (struggle) competitions of the Omid age group were held, with Atosa Golshadnejad, Mobina Heidari, Alireza Heidari and Mohsen Safarnejad winning gold. Aida Khoshbakhti won the silver medal and Mohammad Reza Savari, Hadi Kiani and Zahra Bonyani won 3 bronze medals. Abolfazl Shahrjerdi and Fatemeh Sadeghi, two cathars of the adult team, qualified for the match by placing second in their group.

In the 60-kg weight category, Morteza Karimi won after a 3-3 draw against “Yousef Al-Sarraf” from Kuwait in Sanshou (first point rule). In the second game, Karimi managed to defeat Malaysia’s Pillay Sivansan 4-2, but in the third game, he lost to Hong Kong’s Pan Cheng Ho 1-0. He lost to Kazakhstan’s Nursultan Klyev in the standings and left the tournament empty-handed.

In the 67-kg weight category, Hadi Kiani defeated Mahmoud Fallah of Palestine 2-0 in the first match. In the second match, Kiani lost 2-0 to Uzbekistan’s Mohammad Abdulaziz and advanced to the play-offs. At this stage, Kiani crossed the “Yang Chang” dam in Hong Kong with a score of 5: 2 and won bronze.

In the 75-kg weight category, Alireza Heydari defeated Asad Bek Photo of Uzbekistan 2-1 in the first match. Heydari also reached the final in the second round with a 6-0 defeat of “Cheng Tong Yu” from Chinese Taipei. He then defeated Mohammed Branawi of Saudi Arabia 5-0 to win the gold medal.

In the 84-kg weight category, Amir Eslami lost 2-1 to Kazakhstan’s Kamlabik in the first match, and then lost 3-2 to Saudi Arabia’s Mohammad Al-Maleki to avoid winning a medal with two consecutive defeats.

In the 84+ kg weight category, Mohsen Safarnejad first defeated Arusuran and then defeated Esfandiar Yerbek of Kazakhstan to win the gold medal.
