According to Mehr news agency, the 36th round of Iran’s top men’s clubs championship volleyball tournament, which started on Wednesday, October 6 with the participation of 14 teams, ended tonight (Tuesday night, March 16) with the championship of Shahdab Yazd.
After this match and the defeat against Shahdab, Behrouz Atai said: The final match has its own characteristics. The very high pressure of the final game created a lot of psychological burden on the players. Three of my players are under 21 years old and maybe they could not stand this pressure and could not play with high concentration.
He continued: The mistakes we had in the first and second set changed the course of the game. In general, Shahdab appeared more powerful and somehow Zorman did not reach this team. Compared to the previous games, we didn’t have the quality we needed and we didn’t live up to what we expected from ourselves, and a high-quality match didn’t turn out. I congratulate both teams and don’t be tired. I hope Shahdab will be successful in the Asian Games.
Regarding the quality of the 1401 Premier League, Atai said: We had a very high-quality league and the competition was close and high-quality. Really, the winner and loser of any match could not be predicted in advance. Despite the fact that we had a tight league, the quality of the teams was great. Phenomenal players were seen in volleyball. Pooria Khanzadeh, a dairy player, is a very high quality player who is 18 years old and we will hear a lot from him in the future. Irfan Nowrozi and Mobin Nasri were wonderful. Of course, there were other players, but I saw these three players more distinct than the others.
Emphasizing that the issues approved by the league organization should be fully implemented, he said: If the final was announced as a single game from the beginning, this decision should be implemented.
Atai said about Amir Ghafoor’s performance in the final match and the possibility of him being invited to the national volleyball team: Ghafoor is a high-quality player. We knew the quality of his game and he showed well today. I hope he is always in good health. All quality volleyball players have the chance to play in the national team. Of course, this issue will be reviewed after the league. After Nowruz Eid, we will start the national team camps and we will try to use all the available capacities of Iranian volleyball to participate in future competitions and events.
Stating that he was generally satisfied with the refereeing and that the result of the game had nothing to do with the refereeing, he said: Khanzadeh was affected by the pressure of the final and this young man distanced himself from his true self. These young people tried, were obedient and endured the pressure of hard training until they reached the finals. They grew and reached the finals.
