Change of time and host of Asian boys’ youth volleyball championship – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr news agency, the extraordinary meeting of the Asian Volleyball Confederation was held online on Monday, January 25, with the presence of members, including Mohammad Reza Davarzani, a member of the Asian Volleyball Confederation.
One of the topics of this meeting was Chinese Taipei’s withdrawal from hosting the Asian Youth Championship in 2024 due to China’s protest of not being able to participate in these competitions for political reasons and the importance of these competitions being selective for the World Youth Championship.
Before this, the 22nd edition of the Asian Under-20 Boys Volleyball Championship was supposed to be held in Chinese Taipei from July 30 to August 6, when the city of Surabaya in Indonesia was announced as the new host of this tournament by the Asian Confederation.
Also, a three-day change was made in the time of the competitions, and in the new calendar, the second to the ninth of August (July 23 to 30) was announced as the time of the competitions.
In a letter to the member federations, the Asian Volleyball Confederation has set February 1st as the last chance for teams to withdraw without penalty due to the change of the host country.
