Choosing the president of the federation is a priority, not the head coach of the national volleyball team – Mehr News Agency Iran and world’s news
In an interview with Mehr’s reporter, Mohammad Turkashund said, “I don’t think any of the coaches should be selected to lead the Iranian national volleyball team in the current situation.” Because determining the role of the volleyball federation is a priority and the future president must make the final decision about the head coach of the team. If the referee is sure that he is the future head of the federation, delay in choosing the head coach is not allowed and he should determine the role of the national volleyball team as soon as possible. If he thinks that someone else will be the head of the federation, he should not interfere in this matter.
He added: If the supervisor is also elected for the federation, he will temporarily be in charge for 6 months. Basically, the federation should determine the task and then select the head coach. In addition, none of the foreign coaches can come to Iran until May of next year because they are all employed and the only option who does not have a team is the famous Saeed.
The volleyball expert said about the seriousness of Alkeno’s presence in the national team: Alkeno has been away from coaching for several years, while in Iranian volleyball, he did not fulfill what we expected in the short term. Now we have to see if it can achieve the desired result in the long run. It has become difficult to participate in the Olympics and I think it is completely wrong to think about participating in the Olympics, we have no chance for the Paris Olympics. Any other coach who comes to the field must plan for the next four years.
Turkashund pointed out that we should not burn nuts in volleyball and said: Saeed Maarouf is a great player and has had a great impact on Iranian volleyball, but he should not become the head coach of the Iranian national volleyball team without any experience. This is a difficult task. Coaching requires small tips that are gained with experience and should be applied during the game. Considering these issues, I think Maruf is very smart and did not accept this heavy responsibility so easily.
He said: Saeed Maarouf has many abilities and can reach the peak. It’s a real shame that he missed this opportunity so easily. In the end, I hope he makes the best decision. In my opinion, in the current situation, the main issue is the selection of the head of the federation. I hope they make the right decision for volleyball, a lot of work has been done for this field. Everything should not be ruined, but conditions should be provided for volleyball to return to its peak days.
The volleyball expert noted: I think we should have the courage to talk about some issues, volleyball needs a strong management, and in terms of technical skills, Iran’s players are not much different from other countries. In Iranian volleyball, what is important is good management so that there is no player leadership and gang play. Anyone who has strong management and can put aside playerism can be a strong coach. Maybe many people don’t like these talks, but this is the truth, because we are telling the truth, we have no place in volleyball.
