According to IRNA, the country’s girls’ wushu competition (selection of age group teams) hosted by Wushu Academy is being followed up.
This Friday evening, on the sidelines of these competitions and in a tent intended for warming up the wushu athletes, the father of one of the wushu athletes got into a violent fight with the Mansourian sisters (Sahila and Shahrbanu) in protest of the result of his daughter’s competition. This conflict creates ugly and unbelievable scenes that are regrettable.
Holding national competitions with a large number of participants in the Wushu Academy, which does not have the capacity for this number, along with the presence of men in girls’ competitions, is a matter that deserves consideration.
Mehdi Khani, the head of the Wushu Federation’s competition committee, said: I was not in the competition hall and we will definitely follow up on this issue through the women who were responsible for the organization.
