Confirmation of 4-year prison sentence for Celta Vigo striker

According to Tasnim news agency and quoted by AS of Spain, the Court of Appeal rejected the appeal of Celta Vigo striker Santimina and confirmed the initial verdict for the court case of this Spanish player accused of rape.

Santi Mina raped a Spanish woman in an incident that happened 6 years ago in the city of Almeria, Spain, and the victim’s complaint led to a 4-year prison sentence for the Saudi Al-Shabaab player last season. 27-year-old Mina’s lawyers, however, tried to clear the charges against him by presenting evidence to the court, and the appeals court dismissed them as unrelated, while confirming a 4-year prison sentence for the player, and sentenced him to pay 25 thousand euros in compensation to the victim of the case.

Santi Mina attended the Celtavigo team’s training in recent days despite his court case being in progress, but with the confirmation of his court order, the fate of this player is not clear. The former Valencia player’s contract with Celta Vigo still has one year remaining and it remains to be seen what the club will decide about him.
