According to this report; Flick and Bierhoff had a very good and close relationship. Bierhoff had played a key role in the transfer of Flick from Bayern Munich to the German national team. After Bierhoff’s resignation, Fleck said how difficult it was for him to accept as a head coach.
The German national football team led by Flick failed to reach the playoffs of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Germany finished third in the group of Japan, Spain and Costa Rica.
