Deaf Women’s Taekwondo Team Coach: ‌ We only think about the gold medal in the Brazilian Olympics

Great truth In an interview with IRNA on Thursday, he added: “We do not have much opportunity to send the team to the Deaflympics in Brazil and we have no choice but to prepare and reach the highest technical level, so we all try to make the most of the remaining opportunity.”

He continued: ‌ The first training camp of the team after the World Taekwondo Championship for the Deaf, which was hosted by Tehran, was held from the 2nd to the 11th of Bahman with the presence of 11 people and 6 people were selected. After that, the athletes returned to their cities, but since February 3, the trainings have been held online and according to the training program that we have given them.

We must reach the ideal level

Rasti continued: The camps will continue from March to early May and the team will be sent to Brazil in a centralized and continuous manner, and we hope that the team will reach the desired readiness. ‌

Regarding the technical level of the players invited to the Deaf Women’s Taekwondo team camp, he added: “We have a lot of work to do technically, and there are many small and sensitive points and issues that need to be taught to them.”

“The Olympics is a big arena where competitions are held at the highest technical level,” he said correctly; It is a misconception to think that because the Olympics are for the deaf, it has a lower technical level than the Olympics or the World Championships, so we must do our best to prepare for the Olympics in Brazil.

He continued: ‌ The people invited to the national team are technically far from the level required to participate in the Olympics, but fortunately deaf athletes have a high level of intelligence and have a very good attraction.

The coach explained: ‌ Perhaps the low technical level of taekwondo practitioners is due to the fact that some people think that it is difficult to understand the points to the deaf; However, if the coach himself performs the techniques well, they can learn and perform it well in the shortest time.

“Right out of the six people invited to the camp for the deaf women taekwondo team, four athletes will be sent to the Olympic weights,” he said, noting that the taekwondo competitions at the Brazilian Deaflympics in Kyurogi and Pumice are only held individually.

Olympic and Olympic weightlifters are minus 49, menhole 57, minus 67 and plus 67 kg, and deaf women taekwondo fighters in the Kyurogi division will be sent to the Brazilian Olympics in these weights.

The head coach of the Deaf Women’s Taekwondo team said: “The women’s Kyurogi team won the runner-up position at the recent World Championships in Tehran, but as I said, I think they have not been taught much and we are only aiming for the gold medal.” We are going to Brazil and this medal is achievable. The officials of the Deaf Taekwondo Federation and Association have done their best to provide everything we want, which is to be thanked.

Problems can be solved with empathy and collective effort

He added: ‌ But there are problems that require empathy and collective effort, and it is good for deaf athletes like other athletes in the country to be considered legal to attend camps because the deaf are more financially disadvantaged due to their circumstances. .

“We have athletes who have been in national uniform for about 9 years but have not received anything but a small amount of travel expenses, which is not fair,” he said correctly.

He added: ‌ The credit of the Deaf Federation is very low in relation to their field of activity and of course they are not able to pay salaries to athletes, but I hope that the country’s sports directors with more support from the federation will provide a chance for deaf athletes to receive even a small salary.

Deaf athlete seen

The young women’s taekwondo coach also said: “What bothers deaf athletes is that they are ignored by the authorities.

The 24th Olympics for the Deaf will begin on May 11, 1401, hosted by the city of Casillas Dosol, Brazil, and the Iranian Deaf Sports Caravan is scheduled to participate in this competition with 75 athletes in 8 disciplines.
