Did 46 Asian federations support the president of AFC/Iran and send a letter to Sheikh Salman?

According to Mehr reporter, the election of the president of the Asian Football Confederation is scheduled to be held in February, and Sheikh Salman, the current president of AFC, will be one of the candidates in this election.

According to the German news agency, Al-Eqtasiyeh newspaper of Saudi Arabia claimed that Sheikh Salman has won the support of most of the national federations for his candidacy for the third term of his presidency of the Asian Confederation, which will continue until 2027.

According to this media, 46 national federations have sent official letters to Sheikh Salman in support of him in the upcoming elections, and in this way, he can be considered the president of AFC for the third consecutive term.

Since 2013, Sheikh Salman has been working as the president of the Asian Football Confederation in the largest football organization of the Asian continent. He was previously the president of the Bahrain Football Federation as well as the chairman of the AFC Disciplinary Committee.

Considering the support of 46 Asian countries for Sheikh Salman, it is expected that the Iranian Federation will be one of the supporters of this Bahraini man for the upcoming elections, especially since Sheikh Salman has close relations with Mehdi Taj, the current president of the Iranian Football Federation.
