
According to IRNA’s Monday evening report, the Asian Boxing Championship will begin on Tuesday, November 10 in Amman, the capital of Jordan, and will continue until November 21. Iran has participated in this event with 12 boxers under the guidance of Alireza Staki.

In the weight of 80 kg, Meisham Qashlaghi, the first hope of the Iranian team to reach the finals and the silver medalist of the previous Asian Games, faced Hossein Sayesh from Jordan and lost all three rounds to the opponent and was eliminated. Qeshlagi, who was away from training for several months due to injury and surgery, had no sign of his past.
In the weight of 86 kg, Pouria Amiri faced the representative of Kyrgyzstan and while he displayed a brave and admirable fight, he lost with the unexpected decision of the judges to withdraw from the competition.
Previously, in the quarter-final stage, Moslem Maqsoudi was eliminated in the 71 kg weight category with a defeat against Kyrgyzstan, and Shahin Mousavi won the bronze medal in the 75 kg category by winning against Turkmenistan, while advancing to the semi-finals.
In a few hours Tofan Sharifi will fight with Kyrgyz boxer in 92 kg and Iman Ramadanpour will fight with an opponent from India in +92 kg.
