Entrepreneurship, the driving force of job creation – IRNA

According to IRNA on Sunday, entrepreneurship is the creation of jobs through new ideas, and today, with the development of knowledge-based companies and new technologies, the issue of entrepreneurs as generators and driving force in the country’s economic development is given special attention.

Entrepreneurship in the world of technology is the most important prelude to entering development, compensating for economic backwardness and overcoming the stagnation of the business market, while helping to fill the gaps and gaps in the labor market in the development and growth of the country. To move from the traditional to the industrial stage, we must look at the capacities and capabilities of entrepreneurs in applying new methods in the market and creating innovations, so that this group can help the public sector in order to develop the economy, increase per capita income and expand job opportunities.

Increasing the production capacity and creating added value creates wealth in society and consequently increases employment and improves the welfare and living conditions of the people. Entrepreneurship not only plays an important role in economic dynamism by creating competition in domestic industries, creating jobs and innovation, but also encourages investment in various fields by creating wealth from domestic production.

The Institute for Global Entrepreneurship Development is a leading research organization in the field of the relationship between entrepreneurship and the development of economic prosperity. According to global definitions, “Entrepreneurs contribute to the economy and people’s lives by creating jobs, developing new solutions to problems, creating technologies that increase efficiency, and exchanging ideas globally.” “Many of the conditions that benefit entrepreneurs will also benefit the economy, and thus supporting entrepreneurship in general will benefit countries greatly.”

The Global Entrepreneurship Index (GEI) is a compilation indicator that measures the health of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in a country by measuring the quality of entrepreneurship and the amount and depth of support for the entrepreneurial ecosystem. According to the global index, Iran ranks 72nd in the field of entrepreneurship among 137 countries, which shows an increase of 13 rankings in the world compared to 2017.

The issue of entrepreneurship is considered so important in providing employment opportunities that it was considered in the form of resistance economy, so that in 1998 the Supreme Leader of the Revolution met with hundreds of entrepreneurs in various fields of production, industry, mining, agriculture, health and medical Entrepreneurship was called a form of worship and value creation and emphasized that “Greater Iran today needs work and entrepreneurship more than ever to rise like a sharp flying eagle in the atmosphere of progress, prosperity and pride.”

In our country, despite the emphasis on the general policies of the resistance economy and employment based on strengthening the jihadi culture in creating entrepreneurship and promoting the culture of production and entrepreneurship, the weaknesses of the business environment and inadequate infrastructure are still neglected.

Many entrepreneurs face obstacles such as unhealthy economic environment and consequently business environment, inadequate and unsupported rules and regulations, lack of business infrastructure, inadequate market environment, high bank interest rates, high investment risk and others. These problems have prevented most potential entrepreneurs from starting or stopping in the middle of their business. Therefore, in order to create and develop entrepreneurship, it is necessary to provide the necessary infrastructure, such as removing financial barriers, facilitating laws and regulations, ‌ freedom of choice, explaining the culture of wealth, explaining the culture of entrepreneurship and others.

The government has also presented various programs to promote and improve the culture and status of entrepreneurship. In this regard, the Entrepreneurship Development Office of the Ministry of Labor Cooperation and Social Welfare has taken measures such as entrepreneurship development policies, establishing youth entrepreneurship clubs and entrepreneurship training, entrepreneurship cafe, soldier plan The entrepreneur is pursuing the establishment of entrepreneurship consulting and services centers, holding a festival for selecting top entrepreneurs, establishing provincial entrepreneurship centers, and holding the World Entrepreneurship Week.

This year, from 17 to 23 November has been named as “World Entrepreneurship Week” to celebrate this week and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem of countries by raising entrepreneurial tendencies among members of society, especially among young people, various webinars with the presence of managers and experts in this field. Entrepreneurship, Production and Sustainable Employment, Entrepreneurship, Prevention and Combating Corruption, Entrepreneurship and New Technologies, Entrepreneurship and Women, Social Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurship Institutions, Foundations and Networking, and “Entrepreneurship, Education and Consulting” is underway.

On the occasion of Entrepreneurship Week, the Minister of Labor Cooperatives and Social Welfare announced in a message: “Considering the entrepreneurship-based employment approach, it is necessary to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem and establish interaction between the actors of this ecosystem, to provide the grounds for the development of entrepreneurial capacities in the country.”

Hojjatullah Abdul Maleki also stressed the need to reform the laws in the field of entrepreneurship and facilitate the issuance of processes and licenses and lay the groundwork for the activities of entrepreneurs and investors in the field of business and job creation.

According to the latest statistics, there are now about 400,000 entrepreneurs in our country, and we need another 2 million entrepreneurs to build jobs and improve the business environment.

Entrepreneurship contributes to the economic development of countries

To understand the concept of entrepreneurship and capacity building, we went to several experts and researchers in this field. In an interview with IRNA, the head of the Science, Technology and Industry Policy Research Institute of Sharif University of Technology said: “Entrepreneurial exploration leads to economic development and growth of countries and countries that have paid attention to economic development in terms of quantity and quality Innovation has reached economic development through creative and entrepreneurial people.

“Ali Maleki” added: “Some countries continue to produce products and services related to those resources in the traditional way and with emphasis on their natural resources, and due to the inefficiency of this method, their economy is not good.”

He added: To find economic benefits and product production, one must ask four questions: “Why? what? When? and how?” He answered, and this is possible only by entrepreneurs and innovators.

Referring to the process of economic development of countries, the expert stressed: “No country can be a leader in all areas and it is necessary to make the necessary structural changes in the economy based on limited resources and using modernization, diversification, knowledge transfer and fundamental innovation.” To achieve economic growth.

“This must be done with the simultaneous help of the government and entrepreneurs,” he said.

Iran has great potential for social innovation

“Unlike other countries, Iran has a high potential for social innovation, while most countries are just consumers of innovation,” a researcher at the UN’s Innovation and Technology Research Center told IRNA.

“Traditionally, most societies consider the government to be responsible for solving social problems, but it is beyond the power of governments to solve these problems because they cannot offer creative solutions,” Sadr Ghazi said.

“There is a group of effective investors who are wealthy but prefer to invest in social issues,” said the UN University researcher, emphasizing the bottlenecks in social project in institutions and organizations.

“Investors can connect with social innovators through an intermediary group,” he said.

According to this researcher, in order to see the problems of the target group and solve them, we must wear glasses of innovation and identify the main bottlenecks in each region.

Entrepreneurship, the driving force behind job creation

Networking to facilitate entrepreneurs and investors

In this regard, the head of Sharif University of Technology Science and Technology Park also told IRNA: “Networking and facilitating the presence of investors and startups is the main mission of this university.”

“Majid Dehbidipour” added: “Sharif University Innovation Zone was established in 1379 and now Sharif Innovation Zone covers an area of 250 hectares with nearly 3,000 people working in this area.”

He stated: “The mission of this institution is to create culture, empowerment and support for start-up companies. Also, Sharif Metro Technology Complex, which was established with the cooperation of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund of Omid, is the most important achievement of our collection.”

The head of Sharif University of Technology Science and Technology Park, referring to the establishment of Sharif Tower, noted: This tower was also created by the private sector in 1400 and its main mission is to create proximity between companies.

The most important factors for the success of risky businesses and the development of entrepreneurship are the existence of networks and the ability to network. Social networks have a better and wider space, identify more appropriate opportunities, and can access more and better resources. Therefore, to improve entrepreneurship in the country, we need interaction between the private and public sectors and the adoption of macro and micro policies.
