The spokesperson of the technical committee of the volleyball federation said about the issues raised in this meeting: “For a long time, the volleyball federation has been trying to make the best decision for the country’s volleyball to put the best coach who has high experience and good technical conditions at the head of the country’s volleyball.”
Mahmoud Afshardoust stated that in this process 15 foreign and one internal options were examined and finally four options remained, he clarified: After talking in the advisory council and the technical committee, we came to the conclusion that there is time and there is no need for urgency. Because some options for presence in Iran are hesitant.
He said: In today’s meeting, it was decided to conduct further investigation and to think more about external and internal options so that the best decision can be made with further investigation in the weekly meetings. The negotiations are still in force.
Afshardoust stressed: Considering that, unfortunately, two of the options based on the latest negotiations held yesterday are not ready to attend Iran for reasons unknown to the federation, we should wait until the new options are added and the final review is done.
Expressing his surprise at the behavior of the coaches who have taken the negotiations so far and suddenly changed their decision, he said: “The situation has become a bit difficult for Iranian volleyball and the federation should use its channels and continue the negotiations.” It is possible to cancel two options for any reason and this is a precedent in our country.
The spokesperson of the technical committee of the volleyball federation continued: Moradi, the head of the volleyball federation, will travel outside Iran for face-to-face negotiations if necessary to closely negotiate with the considered options. Also, according to the suggestion of the head of the federation and the agreement of the technical committee members, in order to create more motivation and use the maximum capacity, a special reward and prize has been considered for the national team in case of advancing to the Olympics.
In the end, Afshardoust said: As a small member of the volleyball family, I am proud of myself and volleyball that there is public interest in this sport, but a completely wise decision must be made and more investigation must be done and the right decision must be made.
