Faghanpur: The expectations were not met in the preparation of the statute of the Football Federation

According to Fars news agency, the weekly meeting of the members of the sports working group of Motlafa Islamic Party was held with the presence of Faghanpour, the legal representative of the football federation.

At the beginning of this meeting, Mohammad Reza Tehrani, the head of the sports working group, referred to the terrorist incident in Kerman and the sympathy of various members of the people, especially the Fahim Sports community in condemning it, and said that the unity of the people in confronting the elements of arrogance is indestructible. He also expressed his hope that our country’s national football team, with its all-Iranian technical staff, will be able to present a good performance in the Asian Nations Cup.

In the continuation of this meeting, each of the members of the sports working group expressed their opinions and views related to various sports issues of the country, especially football. In this regard, points and issues related to the legal department of the federation, the activities of this committee and other related committees were raised, and Dr. Faghanpour gave explanations in this regard.

He said, especially in connection with the issue of Wilmots, who was questioned by the media at the time and during which the arrowhead of the attack was directed at the legal department of the football federation, he said: the fact is that at that point the legal committee had no role in connection with the conclusion of the contract and how I announced this issue to the media at the same time. In fact, when Ki-Roosh left Iran, in an official letter addressed to the officials of the federation, I asked them to introduce whoever they choose as the head coach to the legal committee so that we can do a solid job with the coordination of international affairs and other related departments. so as not to cause problems. Therefore, as I mentioned, the legal committee was not aware of how Wilmots’ contract was concluded, although later I defended the contract that was signed with this coach because there was no problem with the contract. None of the critics could object to the provisions of the agreement.

He continued: The problem that caused us to pay a large fine for Wilmots was the delayed salary of this coach. There was a delay of five months in the payment of this coach’s fee, according to his regulations, he could unilaterally terminate the contract and receive the full amount because of the problems, it was not possible to deposit the money into Wilmots’s account. The result of the issues became more complicated and finally we got two million dollars from Shasta company with the due fines and the money of the said coach was paid.

In another part of his speech, he explained the roles and positions of the judicial bodies in the federation, including ethics, disciplinary, legal, appeals and departments.

Faghanpour also pointed out the deficiencies in the statutes of the provincial boards and stated: When the governors of the provinces are deprived of the right to vote, it is natural that they do not feel responsible towards the boards. It was expected that they would get help from all experts in drafting the statute and the role of the legal committee would be strong. The constitution of the federation is the constitution and it should be complete and inclusive. It was expected that the legal committee would supervise the legal department of the federation in the contract of league players and clubs, but unfortunately these expectations were not met. In any case, our presence in the legal committee and the presence of other colleagues from various judicial departments is aimed at strengthening the federation’s pillars and helping the officials so that affairs proceed correctly, principled and without problems. It is obvious that the more the officials of the federation consult and accompany these committees and departments, the problems in implementation will be less.
