Federation’s response to the CEO of Persepolis; We consider ourselves obliged to observe neutrality and legal requirements

According to Fars News Agency, the Football Federation issued a statement as follows regarding the recent statements of Reza Darwish, CEO of Persepolis:

“The Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as the guardian of the country’s football, has always considered itself a supporter of club teams and has defended the indisputable rights of football, the most important of which is the payment of television broadcast rights. This policy applies to the Iranian teams participating in the AFC Champions League. It is more colorful and the federation has provided its advisory opinions to the clubs over the past years to remove the obstacles to participating in the Asian Champions League and has provided the necessary support for a strong presence in Asia from the representatives of our country in Asia, fortunately with the efforts and numerous meetings of the head of the federation Football, with the officials of the Asian Football Confederation, the ground was provided to lift the suspension of club football to participate in the Champions League.

Definitely, the opinion of the directors of the football federation and above all the honorable board regarding the two clubs Esteghlal and Persepolis was and still is. Even the Asian Football Confederation was unhappy with the elimination of these two clubs last season because the presence of these two teams in the Champions League increases the number of spectators and audiences of the Champions League. However, there was no other choice but to comply with the professional requirements of the Champions League. Finally, with the efforts of the Football Federation and the use of all managerial and legal powers by the Federation in the Asian Football Confederation, this ban was canceled until the initial steps to upload the documents and receive A professional license should be provided, and the board of directors, in order not to be accused of favoritism and supporting one of the two biggest clubs in our country, on the one hand, and on the other hand, not complying with the current rules and regulations, for example, during the administration period of the federation. 10 billion Tomans were deposited from the account of the Football Federation to the Persepolis club based on the emphasis of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and it was announced to the Federation as a violation by the Public Accounts Court of the country.

Therefore, the federation considers itself bound to observe neutrality and implement the legal requirements, but it always has a supportive and national view towards the clubs in Asia, and in this regard, it makes its efforts to increase the income of the clubs through legal means. Because the biggest problem for our country’s clubs to shine in Asia is not having stable income from legal sources in world football.
