Freestyle voyage to the United States was canceled

According to Fars News Agency, the President of the Wrestling Federation, in a letter to the President of the American Wrestling Federation, announced the impossibility of Iran attending a team-friendly sports match with the freestyle wrestling team of this country.

The text of the email sent is as follows:
Dear Mr. Boris Bomgartner

World and Olympic champion and esteemed President of the American Wrestling Federation

I am very sorry to announce that the national wrestling team of the Islamic Republic of Iran, due to the non-granting of visas to 6 members of this team, is practically not able to participate in a friendly match with the US national team. Unfortunately, the non-issuance of visas by the authorities of your country has taken place in spite of all the preparations made by the members of the Iranian team and the presentation of all the necessary documents and the subsequent repeated follow-ups.

I am unhappy to announce that so far the visas of two wrestlers, the team coach, the team leader and the Olympic referee of the federation and me as the president of the federation have not been issued, so I have no choice but to cancel the trip.

I would also like to express my protest against the disrespectful and rude treatment of some agents of the US Consulate General in Dubai with the head of the Iranian national wrestling team, who interrogated him for about 5 hours.

Personally, I am convinced that you and the good American wrestlers have not played a role in these anti-sporting political currents.

I was interested in this purely sporting event following your respectful invitation to exercise together and learn from each other that the purpose of this competition was. Now that this is not possible in the United States for non-sporting reasons, I would like to invite you and the US national wrestling team to come to Iran as soon as possible and have this friendly match in Iran.

I assure you that my ship-loving and hospitable compatriots will welcome you with open arms.
