Yesterday, our country’s karatekas won three silver and one bronze medals.
The results of the representatives of Iran are as follows:
Men
The team kata consisting of Abolfazl Shahrjardi, Ali Zand and Milad Farazmehr won the bronze medal.
Weight minus 84 kg, Mehdi Khodabakhshi first defeated the Senegalese opponent with difficulty. In the next stage, he lost against the representative of Kazakhstan after a 2-2 draw, and was eliminated by the judges’ vote.
Majid Nikohmet lost to the representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan with a score of 2-0 in the first round of 84 kg plus weight, and Nikohmet also reached the table of chances again with Azerbaijan’s karateka qualifying for the finals.
He then lost to Algeria to be eliminated from the tournament with a poor performance.
Women
Fatemeh Sadeghi went to the finals in individual kata with a good performance. Iran’s Qatari lady lost the final result to “Delira Buzan” from Turkey and won silver.
Weight minus 61 kg, “Rozita Alipour” lost in the first step against the representative of Uzbekistan with a count of three to two. Because of his objection to the referee, he was fired and lost the chance to participate in the next match.
Weighing minus 68 kg, Mobina Heydari first defeated opponents from Senegal and Algeria. He then won against “Eda Temur” from Turkey with a count of eight to three and reached the final.
In the last step, the worthy Iranian karate lady suffered a 2-1 defeat against “Irina Zaretska”, a well-known representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and settled for a silver medal, so that the last hope of the Iranian karate team to win a gold medal was destroyed.
Weight plus 68 kg, “Leila Barjali” defeated the Kazakh opponent and then defeated the representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan, but in the semi-final, she lost to an opponent from the host to try to win the bronze medal.
Borjali took the ranking of the Cameroonian opponent from the front and won bronze.
However, the Iranian national karate team ended its work in this event without winning a gold medal, with five silver and three bronze medals.
