According to Tasnim news agency, while the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has not yet announced its decision on the suspended game between Iran’s Sepahan and Saudi Arabia’s Ittihad teams, the Saudi “Goal” site claimed; The Sepahan-Ittihad match will be held in Iran in the second round of the group stage of the Asian Champions League, hosted by Sepahan.
According to this report; This game will be held in a new stadium, other than Naqsh Jahan Stadium, and the two teams will host each other in their respective countries. In addition, Sepahan club will be fined for what happened in that game.
Naqsh Jahan Stadium in Isfahan was supposed to host the match between Sepahan and Ittihad teams in the second round of the third group of the Asian Champions League last Monday, but the match was ultimately canceled due to the decision of the referee and the representative of Saudi Arabia returned to his country.
After the game was suspended, the Asian Football Confederation published a statement and announced that the meeting between Sepahan and Ittihad teams has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances and the case of this game has been referred to the relevant committees.
Dato Windsor John, Secretary General of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), said in an interview with the Saudi newspaper “Al-Riyazia” a few days ago: I hope this issue will be resolved before the third round of the group stage of the Asian Champions League, which will begin on October 23.
