Hashemi: I invited the national team based on their capabilities

According to IRNA; On the sidelines of today’s training session of the national basketball team, Mustafa Hashemi added: “Today, I am in a position where I have the right of the people and I have a duty to select the best people for the national basketball team.”

He continued: “If you remember, I said from the beginning that our work is not easy, we started our work together and if it is a success, it belongs to everyone, and if there is a failure, we all share in it.”

The head coach of the national basketball team noted: “Due to the closure of the league due to Corona, we decided to start the camp earlier so that the children would be in good condition, and on the other hand, we would control Corona as much as possible.”

He emphasized: We have given the names of 24 players to FIBA ​​and no other player will be added. Sajjad and Arsalan will be added to us from next week, and Behnam Yakhchali will be with us from the end of the month.

Regarding the upcoming matches against Kazakhstan and Syria, Hashemi said: “Kazakhstan is our strongest opponent and knows basketball well and has hired a good coach. Syria also plays fluctuatingly and its playing conditions may change at any moment.” In any case, we must show what power we have.
