Serchko Katants, head coach of the Uzbekistan national team, spoke to his students before the start of training, which was mentioned by the “Championships” website.
Referring to the superiority of Uzbekistan against Turkmenistan, this Slovenian coach said at the beginning of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers: Congratulations again on this victory. We haven’t done anything special yet and we’ve only got three points. You know we made some mistakes in the first half. The pitch is a factor, but you can’t play against Iran like that. We have a serious opponent ahead of us and therefore we should not lose our focus.
The head coach of Uzbekistan pointed out the need for his team’s players to take advantage of the high speed and said: You must always keep your focus and put your whole being into training. You can’t move on smooth terrain and you have to make quick decisions. This starts in practice. We have a good chance to get a positive result. We will beat Iran and this happens only by playing together. If we lose our focus a little bit, we will face a problem.
The national football teams of Uzbekistan and Iran will face each other in the framework of the second week of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers at the Boondkar Stadium in Tashkent starting at 16:30 on Tuesday, November 30.
