Heravi’s reaction to the postponement of the Asian Karate Championship again

According to IRNA, the Asian Karate Championships were originally scheduled to take place in May, but were postponed until August.

However, it is heard that the Asian Karate Association has postponed the tournament again and the new date for the fights will be December. The postponement was made at the request of Uzbekistan, the host of the Asian Championships.

Earlier, the cancellation of the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games had reduced the motivation of the karate nationals, and now the uncertainty over holding the Asian Championships has exacerbated the problems.

The Iranian team missed the UAE World Championships last year due to the multi-national crown and has not participated in various stages of the Karate League since.

Shahram Heravi The head coach of the Iranian national team told IRNA in this regard: “I talked to two Iranian coaches present in other countries and they approved the postponement of the matches.” The postponement has definitely been reported to the Iranian federation.

He continued: “We have no choice and we have to deal with the cancellation and postponement of the matches.” We have already planned and will continue the exercises.

Heravi added: “We are facing the games of Islamic countries and the Asian Championship, and according to the previous decision, we will hold a selection to select two separate teams to participate in these events.”
