According to the Fars News Agency, Hashem Siyami, the head of the Athletics Federation, said: Simultaneously with the 10th of May, Persian Gulf Day, the Persian Gulf Cup two-marathon and half-marathon competition will be held with the presence of domestic and foreign athletes and with the cooperation of three institutions, including the Ministry of Sports, the Federation Athletics and Hormozgan Governorship will be held on Abu Musi Island.

Emphasizing that it is expected that 600 to 1000 athletes will participate in these competitions, he added: We will keep track of these competitions in the calendar of the country’s athletics federation, and then the Asian and World Federation, and every year on the occasion of the Persian Gulf Day with the same name in Abu Musa Island to be held.

Head of the Athletics Federation, referring to the philosophy of choosing Abu Musi Island to hold this round of competitions, stated: Considering the very good capacities of the islands of Hormozgan Province in the field of tourism and health, among the citizens and athletes of the country, following the development of sports in We are also islands.

He stated: One issue that has happened in the athletics board of the province is the discussion of attention to the basic ranks, in the meeting we had with the governor of Hormozgan, it was decided to implement the athletics talent search project with the cooperation of the governor, the athletics board and the general department of sports and youth of the province.

The head of the athletics federation admitted that the national championships in all age groups are being held in Hormozgan province today, which means that the conditions of the province are good, but not ideal, and more attention should be paid to it.
