According to the Mehr correspondent, the Iranian Football League organization had previously announced that the next season of the Premier League will begin in the second half of August.
Soheil Mehdi, the head of the league’s competition committee, said in this regard: August 16 and 17 are the days of Tasua and Ashura. We are trying to start the league sooner. If not, we will move it to later. The plans of the national team are also important to us. After the return of the national team from Canada, we will hold a meeting with the officials of the national team to get their final plan until the World Cup.
He continued: “If we start the league in early August, it will be better for us, otherwise the matches will start after the days of Tasua and Ashura.”
According to Mehdi, the league organization is trying to hold the Super Cup match between Esteghlal (the league champion) and Nesaji (the cup winner) in the first week of August.
