In a conversation with Mehr reporter, Vahid Shamsaei said about the latest plans of the Iranian national futsal team to participate in the Thailand tournament and the Asian Championship: We have been monitoring the league games and we are in contact with the coaches of the clubs. We move forward with our own point of view. I want to refer to the past. During the presence of foreign coaches such as “Jorandino” and “Jesus Candelas”, changes took place in the national team. The foreign coach comes in and does these things while not getting hurt. Later, they say that these coaches did amazing things, while if an Iranian coach does the same things, he will definitely be judged.
The head coach of Iran’s national futsal team continued: I stand at the foot of transforming the national team. We will have a new team for the World Cup in Lithuania. Almost 70% of the team changes. I don’t know what they call it. I want to break the line. Whatever happened in the Asian Championship, these same players will grow and develop in two years. If someone is going to get hurt, it’s me, but I want this space to be opened.
Shamsaei clarified: I thank Mohammad Nazem Al-Sharia, the former head coach of the national team, who worked hard. He managed the generation of Jesus Candelas players well and almost kept the national team format from 2016 to 2021 with a few changes. Now we have to have 8-9 changes and use players who have not even participated in the Asian Championship.
Stating that the initial steps to invite players to the national team are underway, he said: Our list is almost ready. After the seventh week, we will announce the names. Some of the players are students and soldiers who are looking for jobs to leave their country. We will announce the names of 25 players after the seventh week, and the national team camp will start on September 2.
In response to a question about his assessment of the technical conditions of the Premier League of Futsal, the head coach of Iran’s national futsal team said: Our league is divided into two parts. Three, four teams at the top of the table have experienced players who are still cool-headed and decisive. A number of young players are also present with them. They have many ups and downs, but I respect the league. I shake hands with the coaches of the league and as I said, I am in contact with most of them.
Referring to the federation’s effort to properly set up the national team camp, Shamsaei reminded: The camp was supposed to start from the fourth day, but we requested to have the players from the second day. This request was agreed. They have also paid the money of the technical staff and are looking to pay the bonuses. Everything is going according to the routine and there is no special problem. The federation also knows that what we are doing is for the future of futsal. I did not sew a bag to sit in this position. The effort is to give my faith to futsal and to walk with all my heart for the national team in order to give space to young people. I am in contact and consult with futsal greats like Hossein Shams, Abbas Tarabian, etc. I don’t care what they say about me. I am not afraid of anything and I hope to be successful in this direction.
He also said about his assistants in the national futsal team: Siamak Dadashi will be added to us. Shahab Safal Manesh will also come to Iran this week. He even watched league games abroad. We have technical staff members of a group; I would like to show the messages of this group, how we have wars and fights in evaluating players and checking their conditions. All coaches are serving the national team with all their heart and are monitoring the situation.
In the end, the head coach of the national futsal team emphasized: every player invited to the national team should know whose shirt he is wearing. Here players have to create epics. Young players should know that the upcoming matches are like a war; Like the era when the martyrs stepped forward to defend the country. No player should think that he has a fixed place in the national team. There is no news of a fixed position in the national team; Both for young players who are newly invited and even for those who have the experience of participating in the World Cup.
