In the last month, with the disruption of the internet and filtering of social networks, home or online businesses suffered serious damage, freelancers also suffered various injuries. For this reason, a conversation with Mehrad Ghazipour, CEO and founder Carlancer platform we had.
Carlenser is a platform for outsourcing and doing remote work projects and is currently considered the leader in the field of freelancing in Iran. Any work that can be done freely, by specifying a certain amount for that work and without the need to hire a person permanently, is in the field of freelancing and is usually done remotely. For example, the employer defines his project in the field of web design on the Carlancer platform and receives a number of proposals from the members of the Carlancer platform, who are called freelancers, and starts the project with the person he chooses from among them.
Areas that What are the areas that can be defined in Carlenser project?
In Carlancer, all projects that can be defined as remote work, such as graphic design, content production, translation, photo and animation and video, website design, application design, programming, digital marketing, SEO, secretary and virtual assistant, voiceover, music and song. Construction, engineering, science, etc. can be defined and currently we have many active projects in all these fields.
Please tell us about the losses that happened to you or the freelancers during the internet disruption and filtering:
After the disruptions in the Internet and filtering access to external services, our platform was hit and the basic services used to notify users, authenticate users, improve the platform’s functionality, and even log in with a Google account had a problem, and we had to We immediately followed up the problems and within 3 weeks, all the services that had problems were replaced with other services, and during this period of 3 weeks, we solved the problems through various methods. All these measures were taken in order to prevent losses, and during this time, a large part of our users lost.
Regarding the losses that our platform saw, we made investigations and in general, the information that we are interested in publishing is as follows.
- 40% reduction in the number of projects
- 65% reduction in registrations
- 52% reduction in total payments
- 50% reduction in the registration of proposals on projects
- 42% decrease in Google entries
- A decrease of more than 50% of the company’s profit
Before the restrictions started, the Carlenser platform was able to pay its expenses and this trend was improving. But currently, due to the decrease in the company’s income, only a part of the expenses is covered and the rest has been compensated by injecting personal funds so that we do not have to retrench.
Mehrad Ghazipour added in the conclusion of his speech:
Due to the current conditions of the Internet and restricting access, many Internet businesses were forced to close and a lot of damage was done to the economy. This damage is done in such a way that any audience who analyzes the current situation without prejudice will realize the extent of the damage. However, many are trying to hide this issue. We hope that the resulting restrictions will be removed as soon as possible and that medium and small businesses can continue to survive by providing free access to the Internet platform.
