
According to IRNA, the World Junior Taekwondo Championships started on Tuesday, August 11th, with the participation of 786 taekwondo players from 91 countries, hosted by Bulgaria in the “Armets” hall in Sofia, and after 6 days of competition, our country’s teams finished as runners-up in both competitions. The boys and girls section is over.
South Korea won 5 gold medals, 1 silver medal, 1 bronze medal and a total of 718 points. The Iranian national team, which participated in this competition with eight taekwondo players, won two golds, two silvers and 370 points, and Thailand stood in third place with one gold, two silvers, one bronze and 211 points.
Turkey with 211, Belgium with 127, Germany with 94 and Uzbekistan with 93 points took the next titles.
In the men’s section of the Iranian national team, which went to Sofia with 5 taekwondo players, he did a great job and won four gold medals and 509 points, deservedly taking the title of runner-up in the world championship.
In this section, South Korea won 5 gold, one silver, one bronze and 720 points with its 10-member team and became the champion.
Kazakhstan with one silver and four bronze, Thailand with two silver, one bronze and 143 points, Italy with one gold and 141 points and Uzbekistan with one silver, one bronze and 97 points were lower than the Iranian national team.
For the Iranian team, Mobina Nematzadeh, Abolfazl Zandi, Reza Kalhor, Abolfazl Abbasi and Mateen Rezaei won 6 gold medals and Pernia Salmani along with Sagar Moradi won 2 silver medals.
Amir Abbas Rahnama, Elham Haghighi, Nyusha Shadlou, Poone Jafar Salehi and Fereshte Fathi were also unsuccessful in winning medals.
The youth team in the girls group is led by Fatemeh Safarpour, and Nilofar Safarian and Akhtar Kiani accompanied her as coaches.
In the boys section, Mohammadreza Zovar is the head coach and Behzad Khodadad and Masoud Kazempour are his colleagues.
