Iranian wrestlers finish with seven colorful medals – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news



According to the Mehr news agency, the international freestyle and western wrestling competitions of the Dunklov Cup and Nikolai Petrov of Bulgaria were held in the city of Veliko Tranovo from February 17 to March 1, at the end of which the Iranian team won a total of 2 gold, 1 silver and 4 medals. Bronze was won.

Accordingly, the Iranian team won the gold medal in wrestling by Saeed Ismaili and Meysam Delkhani in the weights of 60 and 63 kg, and Alireza Abdoli and Alireza Mohammadi in the weights of 72 and 82 kg.

Also, the representatives of our country in freestyle wrestling won a silver medal in the weight of 97 kg by Meysam Abdi and a bronze medal in the weights of 79 and 125 kg by Mostafa Ghiyasi and Yadaleh Mohebbi.

Freestyle wrestling:

In the 57 kg freestyle wrestling competition, Reza Momeni defeated Saleh Katib of Algeria 7-0 in the first round. In the next round, he lost to Afghan Khashalov from Azerbaijan with a score of 10: 0, and due to the defeat of this wrestler in the semifinals, Momeni was eliminated from the competition.

In the 61 kg weight category, Dariush Hazrat Gholizadeh lost to Kulsenik of Moldova 12-10 in the first round, and due to the defeat of this opponent against Ravinder from India in the quarterfinals, the representative of our country was eliminated from the competition.

In the 70kg category, Yousef Kamrani, after a break in the first round, crossed the Visili Dam in Macedonia 7-1 in the second round. In the next round, he lost 11-1 to Ramazan Ramazanov of Bulgaria in the quarterfinals. And due to the presence of his opponent in the final match, he went to the group of losers. In this group, he crossed the Vasily Petrov Dam in Bulgaria with a result of 7: 0 and advanced to the ranking match. In this match, he lost 6: 1 to Jia Avaliani from Georgia and came in fifth.

In the 79kg weight class, Mustafa Ghiyasi defeated Hassan of Bulgaria 11-0 in the first round. In the next round, he defeated Mirzagaliyev of Kazakhstan 11-0 to advance to the quarterfinals. He advanced to the semi-finals at this stage against Steinoff, while he was 7-1 ahead, due to three warnings from this Russian opponent. At this stage, he lost to world bronze medalist Ali Shabanov of Belarus 3: 2 and qualified for the match. In this match, he crossed the barrier of Eric Rainbock from Estonia with a result of 11 to 0 and won the bronze medal.

In the weight of 86 kg, Mohsen Mostafavi defeated Damian Iglesias from Spain in the first round with a result of 6: 0. In the next round, she defeated Moldova 7-2 against Lillian Balan and advanced to the quarterfinals. At this stage, Mostafavi lost to Denis Balivar from Moldova 5: 2, and due to the defeat of this wrestler in the semi-final stage, Mostafavi was eliminated from the competition.

In the 92 kg weight category, Mehdi Hajiloyan, after a break in the first round, lost 9: 2 to world bronze medalist Osman Nurmagmedov of Azerbaijan in the second round. He stepped aside.

In the 97 kg weight category, Meysam Abdi, a freestyle wrestler, defeated the silver medalist of the under-23 world, Moldova, 5-0 in the first round. In the second round and in the quarterfinals, he defeated Zhotan Otimov of Bulgaria 10-0 to advance to the semifinals. At this stage, Abdi also defeated Sahel from India with a score of 6 to 0 and a technical kick, and advanced to the final match. His opponent in the final match of Magomedkhan Magomedov, a Russian wrestler and world youth champion, lost to Azerbaijan with a score of 6: 0 and a technical blow and won a silver medal.

In the 125 kg freestyle wrestling, Yadala Mohebbi lost to Dezanis Khramyankov of Belarus 8-3 in the first round, but due to the presence of this wrestler in the final match, Mohebbi went to the losers. Our country’s representative in this group lost to Artem Hashenko from Ukraine with a result of 8 to 2 and a technical blow and was qualified for the match. In this match, Mohebbi also defeated Francisco from the United States with a score of 6: 0 and won a bronze medal.

In the 55 kg weight category, Seyed Arash Negahdari lost 11-0 to Algeria after a break in the first round in the second round, and due to the defeat of this Algerian wrestler in the semi-finals, Neghdari was eliminated.

In the 63 kg weight category, Meysam Delkhani defeated Dimitrijevic of Serbia 8-0 in the first round. And made it to the semi-finals. At this stage, he defeated European silver medalist Eric Turba 7-6 to advance to the final. In the final match, he defeated Georgia, the holder of the bronze medal in the under-23 world, 4: 3, at the Peridon Aboladze Dam, and won the gold medal.

In the 60 kg weight category, wrestler Saeed Ismaili defeated Abdul Jaber Jabbari of Algeria 9-0 in the first round. In the next round, he defeated Kyrgyzstan, the world silver medalist Julaman Sharshenbekov, 6-1. In the next round and in the semi-finals, Ismaili defeated Bulgaria 7-2 Edmund Nazarian and reached the final. He won the gold medal in this match due to the absence of Irakli Dizimstarashvili from Georgia due to injury.

In the weight category of 72 kg, Alireza Abdoli defeated Portmann from Switzerland with a result of 8: 1 in the first round, and in the next round, he defeated Ali Arsalan, a wrestler from our country from Serbia, with a result of 8: 0. The group of losers found its way. In this group, he defeated his Indian opponent with a score of 6: 0 and was classified for the match. In this match, he defeated Uttar Abuladze from Georgia with a result of 9 to 6 and a technical blow and won a bronze medal.

In the 82 kg weight category, Alireza Mehmedi defeated Kismoni of Hungary 8-1 in the second round after a break in the first round, and in the third round he crossed the Asikiev Dam in Kyrgyzstan 8-1 to advance to the semifinals. At this stage, he lost 2-1 to Gla Bolkvadze, the world under-23 champion from Georgia, and went to the qualifying match. In this match, he overcame the bronze medalist of the under-23 world, Branko Kovacic, with a result of 3: 1 and won the bronze medal.
