Ebrahim Javadi, a bronze medalist at the 1972 Munich Olympics and four gold medals at the World Wrestling Championships, told Mehr about the events ahead of Iranian wrestling in the new year: “Our national team has always proved that they can shine at any time of the year and rely on To overcome their inherent zeal and ability in any field, but it must be admitted that the work of Iranian wrestling in the new year is by no means like last year. This issue has caused the team power of the world’s wrestling contenders to be divided and even some of the world’s great wrestling champions and celebrities have been banned from participating in one of these two important international arenas.
Javadi continued: “For this reason, the field was opened for the invasion of some wrestlers so that they could shine in the absence or unpreparedness of great figures, and finally achieve great honors.” Of course, this does not mean underestimating the efforts and national honors of Iranian wrestlers in the Olympic and world arenas, but everything went hand in hand so that our children could win colorful medals.
The wrestling veteran of our country stated: Undoubtedly, this year’s world competitions are different from last year’s competitions, because all the contenders enter the field with double strength and power. However, our children have the same conditions and will be ready for the competitions with extra effort. Of course, the symmetry of the Asian Games and world competitions is impressive in this regard, which must be accompanied by careful tact and planning of the ship’s managers and technical staff.
He pointed to the high expectations of the society from wrestling as the pioneer of Iran’s sports caravan in world and Olympic arenas and said: “Wrestling accounts are different from other disciplines, because people always expect wrestling to succeed and win medals.” For this reason, I hope that in the upcoming Asian and world arenas, the flag of the ship will be as high as in previous eras, and that the broken ears of our country will be able to leave these great arenas proudly.
Javadi noted in the end: I hope we will see good things in the new year and Iranian sports can move towards success. However, this issue requires the full support of the Iranian sports authorities and coordination and unity among all executive agents.
