Iran’s silver medal in the World Powerlifting Championships
According to Fars News Agency, on the final day of the 2023 World Powerlifting Championship in Malta, Mehdi Mafi Gholami, the only representative of Iran, faced his competitors in the 120+ kg category.
Mafi Gholami won a silver medal in the squat movement by registering a record of 387.5 kg, in addition to setting a new record for the age group of Mr. I World.
This national player of our country registered 205 kg in the chest press and 330 kg in the deadlift to end his work with a total record of 922.5 kg and the 10th title.
In this way, Mafi Gholami registered the first medal of Iran’s powerlifting caravan on the last day of this competition.
In this category, athletes from America, Georgia and Turkey stood in the first to third ranks respectively.
