
According to Mehr News Agency, the world championship youth freestyle wrestling competition was held in Sofia, Bulgaria on August 24-26, and the Iranian team won 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 4 bronze medals, and repeated their championship of last year in this competition.
For our country’s freestyle wrestling team, Sobhan Yaari won gold medals in 79 kg, Amir Hossein Firozpour in 92 kg and Amirreza Masoumi in 125 kg. Armin Habibzadeh won the silver medal in 61 kg weight, and Ahmad Mohammadnejad Jovan in 57 kg weight, Hossein Mohammad Aghaei in 70 kg weight, Arif Ranjbari in 86 kg weight and Amir Ali Azarpira in 97 kg weight won bronze medals.
In the team classification, Iran won the championship with 159 points, America was second with 132 points, and the Indian team was third with 112 points.

In the weight of 57 kg, Ahmad Mohammadnejad defeated Simon Perido from Italy in the first round with a score of 5:0. In the next round, he lost to Jory Volk from America with a score of 7-5 and due to the presence of his opponent in the final match, he went to the losers group. In this group, young Mohammadnejad defeated Azizbek Naimov from Uzbekistan with a score of 11 to 0 and made it to the ranking meeting. In this match, he won against Luka Guingilia from Georgia with the result of 11:0 and won the bronze medal.
In the weight of 61 kg, after taking a break in the first round, Armin Habibzadeh defeated Mikita Abramov from Ukraine in the second round with a score of 11:0 and went to the quarter final stage. At this stage, he beat Nicholas Bouzakis from America with a score of 13-11 in a close match and went to the semi-finals. At this stage, Habibzadeh defeated Hamzat Arsamerzoev from France with a score of 3-0 and qualified for the finals. In this, he lost 5-3 to Yuto Nishiuchi from Japan and won the silver medal.
In the weight of 65 kg, after resting in the first round, Mohammad Reza Shakri defeated Mohammad Bekhtmirov from Austria in the second round with a score of 14:3. In the next round and in the quarter-final stage, he lost to Robert Cornella from America with a score of 6-5, and due to the defeat of this wrestler in the semi-final stage, the representative of our country was eliminated.
In the weight of 70 kg, Hossein Mohammad Aghaei defeated Begijan Kuldashiv from Uzbekistan in the first round with a score of 3:1. In the second round, he defeated Marcel Nagy from Hungary with a score of 14:4 and went to the quarter finals. In this stage, he lost to Michelle Mesenbrink from America with a score of 9-7, and due to the presence of this wrestler in the final match, the representative of our country went to the losers group. In this group, Mohammad Aghaei won against Kanat Krimbkov from Kyrgyzstan with a score of 12:2 and went to the classification match. In this match, he passed the barrier of Hayek Papikian from Armenia with a score of 5:2 and won the bronze medal.
In the weight of 74 kg, after taking a break in the first round, in the second round, Irfan Elahi passed Alexander Facundo from America with a score of 5:4 and made it to the quarter final stage. In this stage, he was defeated by Sagar Jaglan from India with a score of 10-5, and due to the defeat of this Indian opponent against the Japanese opponent in the semi-final stage, the representative of our country withdrew from the competition.

In this group, Rangberry defeated Angelos Koklaris from Greece with a score of 3-0 and qualified for the classification match. In this match, he defeated Sabuhi Amirarslan F from Azerbaijan with a score of 3-1 and won the bronze medal.
In the weight of 92 kg, Amirhossein Firozpour defeated Satoshi Miura from Japan in the second round with a score of 10:0 after resting in the first round. In the next round and in the quarter-final stage, he defeated Christian Angial from Hungary with a score of 10-0 and went to the semi-finals. In this stage, Firozpur won against Adlan Viskhanov from France with a score of 10-0 and went to the finals. The representative of our country won the match with the result of 11:0 against Andrew Margishvili from Georgia and won the gold medal.
In the weight of 97 kg, Amir Ali Azarpira defeated Toyuki Hamada from Japan in the first round with a score of 11:0. In the next round and in the quarter-finals, he defeated Zalim Khan Musikhanov from Kazakhstan with a score of 10-0 and went to the semi-finals. At this stage, Azarpira lost to Rifat Gidak from Turkey with the result of 6-4 and went to the classification match. In this match, he passed the barrier of David Mechdelidze from Ukraine with a score of 5-1 and won the bronze medal.
In the weight of 125 kg, after resting in the first round, Amirreza Masoumi defeated Merab Suleimanashvili from Georgia in the next round with a score of 14:4 and made it to the semi-finals. At this stage, Masoumi defeated Nicholas Feldman from America with a score of 11:1 and qualified for the finals. In this match, he defeated Mahendra Gaikwad from India with a score of 13:1 and won the gold medal.
