Juventus extended the contract of the offending player until 2028

According to Tasnim news agency, Juventus officially extended the contract of Nicolo Fajoli until the end of the 2027-28 season.

Fajoli was the first of the list of Italian players who were revealed to have been active in illegal betting sites last month, and because of that, he was banned for seven months; A ban that could have been much longer if not for his cooperation with the judicial authorities.

Unlike fellow midfielder Paul Pogba – who has been banned for doping – Juventus have not punished Fajoli by not only refusing to pay him but have allowed him to continue training alongside other first-team players. Now this club has extended the contract of its promising young player until 2028.

Fajoli, a product of Juventus’ academy, admitted last month that he borrowed money from friends and team-mates and pretended to buy luxury watches because of his gambling addiction.

Fajoli’s ban will keep him out of Juve until the end of the season. The Old Lady extended the contract of the 22-year-old player, whose previous contract was valid until 2026.
