
According to IRNA, the Karatewan Baku competition, which started on Friday, ended this evening with the recognition of the top players. 347 athletes from 58 countries participated in this event. Iran also participated in these competitions in both women’s and men’s divisions.
In the evening competition and in the women’s minus 50 kg weight final, Sara Bahmanyar faced Salazar from Venezuela and suffered a 5-0 defeat to settle for the silver medal.
Then, in the men’s minus 75 kg final, Bahman Asgari, who has appeared in an international event after completing his suspension, faced Azhikano from Kazakhstan to win the gold medal and lost three to two to win the silver medal.
Previously, Zabihullah Pourshib and Taravat Khaksar had won the bronze medal.
However, Iran’s national karate team ended its work without winning a gold medal and with 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
