
According to IRNA; Karate One Baku competitions started on Friday and will continue until Sunday evening. 347 athletes from 58 countries are participating in this event. Iran has also participated in these competitions in both women’s and men’s divisions.
The results of Iranian representatives on Sunday are as follows
Women’s section
In the weight minus 61 kg, Rosita Alipour first lost against the representative of Ukraine with a score of 5-4 in the group stage, but then she defeated opponents from Germany and Japan with the results of 2-0 and 3-2 and went to the elimination round.
She then defeated Giulia Angelosi from Italy 1-0, but lost to Johanna Nilsson from Sweden in the semi-final 2-1 and missed the finals.
In the weight minus 68 kg, Mobina Heydari lost 3-2 against Eda Al-Tomor from Turkey and then suffered a heavy defeat against Faryal Abdulaziz from Egypt 6-2 and withdrew from the tournament.
In the extra weight of 68 kg, Leila Barjali won in the group stage against Niamh Janner from Scotland with a score of 5-0 and Tita Kinanen from Finland 4-2 and lost to Ayami Yokosa from Japan 1-0 and was unfortunately eliminated.
Men’s section
In the minus 84 kg weight, Zabihullah Pourshib won 2-1 against Jesse Dacasta from France in the group stage, and then tied 1-1 against Mamayev from the Republic of Azerbaijan. In the third match against Mohammad Al-Jaafari from Jordan, Iran’s captain won 7-6 while trailing 6-2 and entered the elimination round.
In this stage, Porshib lost against Shimada from Japan and failed to reach the finals, so he will try to get the bronze medal tomorrow evening.
Yesterday, Bahman Asgari and Sara Bahmanyar reached the finals and Taravat Khaksar made it to the ranking meeting. Ranking fights and finals of different weights will be held tomorrow, Sunday.
