According to IRNA; One Baku karate competition, which started on Friday, will end this Sunday evening. 347 athletes from 58 countries are participating in this event. Iran has also participated in these competitions in both women’s and men’s divisions.
The competitions of different weights were held before noon and three representatives of Iran went on the tatami to win the bronze medal.
Taravat Khaksar won the bronze medal against Tubi Yakan from Turkey in minus 55 kg weight.
Rosita Alipour lost 3-0 against Zahra Chajai from Morocco in minus 61 kg and failed to win a medal.
Zabihullah Pourshib, the captain of the Iranian national team, faced Mohammad Ramadan from Egypt in the minus 84 kg classification match, and after a one-to-one draw, he won by the judges’ vote and won the bronze medal.
This evening, Bahman Asgari and Sara Bahmanyar will face their opponents to win the gold medal.
