According to IRNA, the Korash competition of the Asian Youth Championship, which started yesterday morning (Tuesday), 15 September in Thailand, ended on Wednesday evening.
In this competition, our country’s national youth team won 2 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals in the team division (a total of two divisions for boys and girls) and stood on the runner-up platform. In addition, Uzbekistan became the champion and Vietnam took the third place.
The complete results of our country’s athletes in two categories, women and men, separately for each weight, are as follows:
Women’s section:
In the women’s 57 kg category, after winning against her Vietnamese opponent, “Eidi Vandi Campus” faced an opponent from Kyrgyzstan.
In a close match, he defeated his strong opponent and made his way to the semi-final stage.
The representative of our country faced an athlete from India in the semi-final and was successful in this stage as well, and by winning over the Indian athlete, he went to the final match.
“Eidi Vandi” lost the game in his final fight against his Uzbek opponent and won the silver medal. In this weight, the athletes of Taipei and India were joint third.
In the women’s 63-kg category, after winning against her opponent from Kyrgyzstan, Hadiya Yazdani faced an athlete from India in the next stage. He lost the game against this athlete and was eliminated from the tournament.
In the weight of -78 kg, “Atusa Namami” defeated the representative of India in the second round after taking a break in the first round. In the next stage, he lost against an athlete from Chinese Taipei and won the bronze medal of the tournament.
In the 87+ kg weight category, “Kimya Amzodeh” advanced to the semi-finals after winning with a technical shot against the representatives of Vietnam and Chinese Taipei. At this stage, he faced an athlete from Uzbekistan and lost the game and settled for the bronze medal.
Men’s section:
In the men’s -55 kg weight, Seyed Habib Mehnani won the first round against an opponent from Malaysia with a technical blow.
In the second round, the representative of our country also defeated his Tajik opponent and made his way to the quarter finals.
At this stage, “Mahnani” defeated his Thai opponent with a technical shot and reached the semi-finals.
The representative of our country lost the game to an athlete from Uzbekistan in the semi-final and in a close competition, and together with Korashkari from Thailand, he won the bronze medal of this competition. Uzbekistan and Vietnam were represented first and second respectively.
In the weight of 60 kg, “Mehdi Garaghash” defeated his opponent from Chinese Taipei with a technical blow after taking a break in the first round. The representative of our country beat his Tajik opponent in the second round and made his way to the semi-finals. “Mehdi Garaghash” faced another representative of Chinese Taipei in this stage, and despite the technical blow of his opponent, he advanced to the final match of the fights.
In the final match, “Mehdi Garaghash” defeated his Indian opponent and powerfully won the gold medal of this period of the Korash Asian Youth Championship.
In the weight of -66 kg, “Amir Hossein Habibpour” after defeating his Indian opponent with a technical kick, faced an athlete from Kyrgyzstan and won against this athlete to the semi-finals.
In the semi-final, he won against an opponent from India and reached the final of the tournament. But in the final competition, he lost the fight to an athlete from Uzbekistan and won the silver medal.
In the weight of -73 kg, “Ramin Ahmadzadeh” made it to the finals of the competition with a technical blow after winning against opponents from India, Vietnam and Kazakhstan. In the finals of the tournament, while he was ahead until the last seconds, he faced his opponent’s fake technique and ended his match with defeat and became the owner of the silver necklace.
In the weight of -81 kg, “Mursad Ahmadzadeh” after winning against his Turkmen opponent with a technical blow, in the next stage and in a close competition and only receiving a warning in the last seconds, he lost to the Indian athlete and withdrew from the competition.
“Abolfazl Efti Erkan”, another representative of our country in 81 kg weight, after winning against an opponent from Chinese Taipei, went to the next stage of the competition. At this stage, he defeated the Kazakh athlete and advanced to the semi-finals.
At this stage, the representative of our country faced an athlete from India who had won against “Mursad Ahmadzadeh”. In this match, “Efti Erkan” lost the game to his rival with a difference of one point and settled for the bronze medal.
In this weight, an athlete from Uzbekistan won first place. The representative of India was second, and another athlete from Uzbekistan was in third place together with the representative of Iran.
“Amir Mohammadi Brimanlu” defeated an opponent from India in the first round in the weight of 90 kg and went to the next stage of the competition. In the second round, he faced an opponent from Tajikistan and while he was ahead of his opponent until the last moments, he suddenly gave up the game and was eliminated.
In the 100-kg category, our country’s representative “Pooriya Mehnani” faced an opponent from Turkmenistan after a technical blow by an athlete from Vietnam, and he also gave him a technical blow like his previous opponent. “Mehnani” faced an athlete from India in the semi-finals and by winning against this athlete, he went to the final match of the 100-kg Korash Asian Youth Championship.
The representative of our country lost the game against his Uzbek opponent in the final match and won the silver necklace. In this weight, the athletes of India and Kyrgyzstan jointly achieved the third place.
In the weight of 100+ kg, “Mohammedreza Vahdani” first defeated Korashkari from Turkmenistan and advanced to the next stage. The representative of our country defeated his Uzbek opponent in the second round and went to the semi-finals. The heavyweight representative of our country defeated the Vietnamese athlete in the semi-final fight and became a finalist. In the final match, “Vahdani” faced an opponent from India and won the gold medal in this weight category with a technical blow.
In this weight, the athletes of India and Vietnam jointly took the third place.
