“Mohammad Reza Mazloumi” told IRNA on Friday that the rumors about blind and camouflaged judokas are a mischief against national heroes. The head of the judo department I met with did not discuss this issue and no letter has been sent to us or the National Paralympic Committee.
He added: “I do not know what the purpose of this issue is, but we will pursue it through the legal authorities to deal with those who spread rumors against national heroes.”
The president of the Federation of the Blind also confirmed the classification of Vahid Nouri and Mohammad Reza Khairullahzadeh, adding: “Since 2018, these two judokas have been tested and approved in Indonesia, Uzbekistan (2 times), Portugal (2 times), Kazakhstan and Turkey.” In each course, 2 doctors from different countries will examine the athletes and if there is a difference of opinion between them, the third person will give the final opinion.
He added: These two heroes were once confirmed by Dr. Najafi in Iran. On this account, 15 trusted doctors of the World Federation of the Blind approved them and there was no objection to their classification. Maybe those who raise this issue have evidence. I ask them to publish their evidence in the media.
Referring to the last classification of the two judokas, Mazloumi said: “Their classification was approved two months before the start of the Paralympic Games in Turkey, and the documents have been handed over to the International Federation of the Blind.”
He added: “If the documents were incomplete, the World Federation would ask the athlete for an official certificate that he must deliver at the competition venue.” At the time of deployment, approval of quotas and Paralympic competitions, there were no objections to Iranian athletes.
Mohammad Reza Khairollahzadeh and Vahid Nouri were two Iranian Paralympic judokas who won gold medals in the 16th Paralympic Games.
