According to IRNA, Mirasmaili volunteered for the post of president and executive board in the registration form.
Regarding his reasons for registering, he said: I registered with pride. I have always believed that these posts are for sports people. With respect to the friends who served, once the government trusts and the minister is sports, friends let a sportsman be at the head of the committee.
Mirasmaili added: I am happy that the competition is within the assembly and the government did not have any special pressure. I hope the friends will accept that the committee will fall into the hands of a sportsman. The committee has a high position in the world and great things can be done and requires strong diplomacy. The things that have not been done during this time have caused the heroes to suffer. Chairmanship of the committee is not a political job, it is an executive one, and the long-term plan requires us to improve our position. Because until now, the Olympic medals were based on the talents and self-made of single figures and there was never any special planning for it.
