“Arash Mirasmaili” In an interview with IRNA, he described the current situation of Iranian judo in various areas, including the visit of a Turkish coach to our country, the presence of Brimanloo in the Kurash camp, the joint international camps of the national judo team and the Supreme Court’s verdict.
First, explain about the presence of a Turkish coach in Iran for a week.
“Hossein Ozkan” was in Tehran for a week, monitoring the election process and then monitoring the national team camp for three. When we agreed with him in Turkey, it was decided that he would come to Iran to see the conditions and facilities, and we would have a technical evaluation of him.
Did the agreement finally come?
On the last day, we had a meeting that exchanged views on various issues and we agreed on the financial part. He is an employee of the Turkish National Olympic Committee and must obtain a permit to attend Iran, and was scheduled to give a final answer within a week to 10 days. We also agreed on other things and we are waiting for Ozkan to give us the final OK.
Did Brimanloo consult with you to attend the Kurash camp?
We talked and he raised the issue of attending Kurash. He wants to play in the Hangzhou Asian Games and coordinate with us. The task of suspending judo will be determined within the next two weeks, and if the suspension is lifted, he will return to the camp.
The Judo Federation seems to value Brimanloo too much.
Brimanloo is a great champion and his priority has always been judo, but we will not hinder his plans. This judoka is in full coordination with the federation in all areas and we have also had good support from him in terms of salary, rewards and other matters. When he applied to join the Kurash camp, I welcomed him.
With these descriptions, can other people also go to other fields?
You see, in the assembly and the board of directors, we approved that any national and provincial athlete who wants to go to another field must apply, and this issue will be reviewed in the federation and the relevant board. Judo has great potential, but other disciplines that are close to us must invest in themselves and cultivate heroism.
International camps seem to have motivated judokas.
This is the minute. We participated in the Iraqi army before Eid and we also had friendly matches there. We selected the main criterion and added some young judokas to the team.
According to the memorandums we signed with the neighboring countries. We try to participate in tournaments that they hold and have a joint camp with them.
What are the next plans of the national team?
We were going to go to Tunisia and have a joint camp, and soon after, Iraq will hold a tournament that also includes Iran and Tunisia. As a result, the timing of the joint camp with Tunisia changed. There was also an invitation from Russia to host the Grand Prix, and we will send three well-trained judokas to Mohsen Zakaria.
The Turkish Federation has also invited the Iranian youth team to leave for this country in June. We asked them to change the time because our teenagers’ final exams are in June. We also invited them to come to Iran; Especially in the women’s section, the presence of the Turkish team will help Iranian women judokas a lot and we are waiting for their response.
What happened to the verdict of the Supreme Court of Sports?
In this regard, the Supreme Court of Sport itself decides and the other side and we can not comment. It was scheduled to be announced on March 25, but for the third time, it was extended for a month. There are sensitivities in the bird that the court itself wants to investigate further. If the vote is fair and non-political, we have high hopes that the suspension will be lifted. We did not put down the plans and with a lot of effort, we hit the suspension technically.
There are two possibilities, if the suspension continues, we will follow the current plan and we have even told this to the Turkish coach. God willing, we will get rid of the suspension, there will be a special look, and our participation in official competitions and joint camps will increase. In any case, all our efforts during the suspension were to keep judo alive, and I think we have succeeded in that as well.
