Moqanlu: Egyptian taekwondo has favorable conditions and I hope to be a good representative

According to Fars news agency, Bijan Moqanlou, the head coach of Iran’s national taekwondo team, is now going to be the head coach of the Olympic taekwondo team and the technical manager of Egypt’s national taekwondo teams for the Paris Olympics.
In an interview with the sports reporter of Fars news agency, Bijan Moqanlou said: “Yes, you are currently the head coach of the Olympic Taekwondo team. And I was chosen as the technical director of all the national teams of Egypt. According to the agreement we made, my contract is until the 2024 Paris Olympics. During this period, we are going to plan regarding planning, development, promotion, selection of players, supervision and control, preservation and maintenance of Egyptian players. I hope to be a good representative of our country in Egypt during this time.
In response to the question of what happened after the end of your cooperation with the Iranian Taekwondo Federation, you gave a positive answer to Egypt’s proposal, he said: The fact is that as soon as my contract with the Iranian Federation ended, the Egyptian Taekwondo Federation contacted me overnight. They called and presented their conditions. Fortunately, the conditions were favorable and we reached an understanding, and I am currently in Egypt. Currently, I have a contract with this federation until the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In response to the question about the status of taekwondo in Egypt and the conditions of the Olympic quota in this country, Moqanlu said: Currently, Egypt has won a quota in the men’s division in the weight minus 80 kg. We have the African Games coming up, and according to the plan I made and presented to the Egyptian Taekwondo Federation, we are going to participate in several joint camps and several tournaments so that, God willing, we can make the most of the time we have until the Olympics.
