According to Mehr reporter, in the fourth week of the Asian Champions League, Sepahan Isfahan football team will host Almalik of Uzbekistan on Monday evening from 19:30 at Azadi Stadium in Tehran.
Jose Morais, the head coach of Zardposhan Sepahan, participated in the press conference before the game. While referring to the decision of the Asian Football Confederation regarding the match against Al Ittihad, he said: As you know, the competition has become more attractive and we know which team has more and better chances to advance to the next stage. We faced many challenges. This decision of AFC created a big challenge for us.
He said about the Almaliq team: “The game is played on the field and the Almaliq team has good players, but so far they have not achieved good results in Asia, and this issue makes it more difficult for us because they will face us without any special pressure.”
The head coach of Sepahan continued regarding the game in a stadium outside Naqsh Jahan: I wished to have all Sepahan fans in the stadium. Because of the scenario that was arranged, we are 500 kilometers away from home, but we will have the support of Nasaji fans. I want Sepahan fans to come to the stadium early to support the textile team. I also want Esteghlal and Persepolis fans to come to Azadi Stadium, because now it is not a club issue anymore, it is a national issue and we represent Iran in Asia. We hope this will be a good example for AFC to show how much Iranian people love football.
In the end, he spoke about the need for empathy among fans and said: Now is the time to be together to overcome challenges together. We have to reject the challenges and make the majority of people happy, not just a few. Tomorrow everyone will be able to see and feel the game and I must say that Iranian people and football deserve the attention of the world. I thank the Sepahan fans who will travel 500 kilometers tomorrow to watch the game.
Asadi: We need the support of the fans at Azadi Stadium
Reza Esadi, a Sepahan football team player, emphasized the national nature of this game by participating in the press conference and said: “Tomorrow we are Iran’s Sepahan and we need the support of the fans at the Azadi Stadium.” We don’t play in our own home and Isfahan stadium and we don’t have all the fans. They are one of our strengths, the fans, but unfortunately they are not with us in this game. Of course, they should be motivated to come to the stadium and cheer for their team. I can say that now Sepahan is the representative of Iran and a team from Iran is playing. Tomorrow’s game is a national debate and people should be motivated to come to the stadium.
