According to Mehr news agency, Iran’s national volleyball team played its first match in Competitions The League of Volleyball Nations handed over the result to the host Japan with a score of 3-0.

Iranian captain Seyed Mohammad Mousavi said after this match: First of all, I congratulate the Japanese team. They played great. Of course, we already knew that they would create difficult conditions for the Iranian team, but not to this extent, this team had wonderful ball catches. They served well and played purposefully.

Emphasizing that the Japanese played volleyball like a machine, Mousavi added: They put pressure on the Iranian team during the game. There are a number of young players in our country’s team who have not been seen yet and will definitely have more to say in the future. Players who have never played in these conditions and with this size of Japanese audience, and it is certainly difficult for them to compete in such conditions. The team will definitely get better results in the future. I already said that the Iranian team did not come for just one game and we will get better results in future matches, hoping to God.

In the end, the captain of the Iranian national volleyball team said: We had a series of childish mistakes, which I feel are normal. It is the first game and we have been away from the competition conditions for two or three months. In the past, we did not play volleyball well in the first game because the training conditions are completely different from the game. Of course, this should not be an excuse to lose the next three games, we are competing against good teams and, God willing, we can recover our minds and prepare for the next match.

The Iranian national volleyball team will line up against Poland at 12:30 on Thursday, June 18, in their second match in the first week of the League of Nations.
