Naglesman defends his tactics despite Bayern Munich stopping at Hoffenheim

According to Tasnim news agency, Bayern Munich football team yesterday (Saturday) in a away match against Hoffenheim in the 26th week of the Bundesliga, agreed to a one-on-one draw, the result of which was also recorded in their home game against Bayer Leverkusen last week. Despite criticizing some of Bayern Munich’s style and tactics, including Sky expert Dietmar Hamann, the Bavarians’ head coach Julian Nagelsmann defended his tactical decisions in the game. One of Hamann’s objections to Naglesman was the use of three and a half defensive players, as he believed that this had made Bayern’s style of play predictable.

Given the injury to Bayern Munich’s full-backs, Naglesman had no choice but to send four defenders to the field if he wanted to use the four-man defense.

“This style of play is not something that Bayern Munich likes,” Nagelsmann said, stressing that neither he nor Bayern fans would like the team to play with such an arrangement.

He said: “I will talk to him about what Haman has said, because I think what he is talking about is injustice against the players, especially when you see how Gunbari, Kuman and Saneh ran and tried.

“Maybe he is so used to seeing himself in very attacking positions that what we have done is defend him,” the Bayern Munich boss said in response to Hamann. I am the coach of Bayern Munich and I have always tried to ask the opinion of the players to choose the tactics of my team.
