Omani veteran’s prediction of Iran’s championship in the Asian Nations Cup/ former Iraqi national team player: Iran does not have the character of a champion

According to Tasnim news agency, the 2023 AFC Asian Cup in Qatar will start tomorrow (Friday) at 19:00 with the meeting of the national teams of Qatar and Lebanon at Lusail Stadium, and the Iranian national team will enter the competition on January 24 with a match against Palestine.

Ahmad Hadid, the former midfielder of the Oman national football team, who appeared on the Al-Kas TV program, predicted the victory of our country’s national team in the 18th edition of the Asian Nations Cup and said: I have watched Iran’s games in the World Cup, and in my opinion, this team It is one of the most powerful teams in Asia. Iran used to use long balls and physical strength of the players, but now we see the ability of the players and the tactics of the coaches in this team.

Also, Nashat Akram, who won the Asian Nations Cup with the Iraqi national team in 2007, spoke about the students of Amir Qalanewi and had a different opinion. He said about the Iranian team: Iran has a great history and has won three Asian championships. This team benefits from high-quality players such as Mehdi Tarimi, Sardar Azmoun and Saman Qudous, but it does not have the character of a champion.

Referring to the performance of our country’s national team in the previous Asian Nations Cup, the former Iraqi player said: If we go back to the past, Iran has a hard time reaching the semi-finals, unlike South Korea and Japan. The Iranian team is an integral part of the teams that compete for the World Cup and reach these competitions. However, I don’t think this team will reach the Asian championship in the presence of teams like Japan and South Korea.

The schedule of the matches of our national team in the Asian Nations Cup is as follows:

Friday, January 29, 1402
