According to the Mehr reporter, Reza Atari was one of the most experienced freestyle wrestlers and the title of Iranian wrestler in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, who, despite his high motivation, could not shine in this great arena. Faced with the concern of changing weight and going to a higher weight for a long time, he was finally able to reach his goal in the Premier League competitions and test himself in the weight of 61 kg.
In this regard, Atari, who wrestled with Zob Amol Steel team runner-up in the Premier League, said: “With the opinion of national team coach Pejman Dorostkar, I decided to play in the league in the weight of 61 kg, which I think could be in my favor in the near future.” .
He added: “Of course, due to my low weight compared to the 61 kg weight claimants, I still have to train and plan, but I am sure that I can perform better against the claimants of this weight if I reach the desired weight and improve my physical condition.”
Atari continued: I started my training about a month ago and announced to the head coach that I would like to wrestle at a higher weight, which he also agreed to. Of course, it was natural that I could not train hard after the Olympics and that is why my body is heavy at the moment, but I went to the field in the league and realized that I could gradually gain weight in the new weight.
In the end, our country’s Olympic freestyle wrestler referred to his final decision regarding weight change and said: “At the moment, nothing has been decided yet and I am testing myself.” On the other hand, maybe in the final stage of the league, due to the 2 kg weight loss and also the decision of the technical staff of Zob Amol steel team, I will wrestle again in the weight of 57 kg.
