According to Tasnim news agency, Paul Pogba, who ended his 6-year stay at Manchester United this summer and joined Juventus, recently sued his brother Mathias Pogba, claiming that his brother and some of their old mutual friends took him on a trip that lasted several hours. They have been to France, threatened with firearms and demanded nearly 11 million euros from him.
“Radio Monte Carlo” is now reporting that Matias Pogba was sent to jail and questioned last night (Saturday) after appearing in a public court session in front of the investigating judge. He has been in custody since Friday as part of a police investigation into the alleged extortion and kidnapping of his brother. Mathias Pogba is being investigated for extortion in an organized group and criminal conspiracy to commit a crime.
Four other suspects in this case, who are between 27 and 36 years old, have also been imprisoned and investigated in the context of this case. Unlike Mathias Pogba, they are also being investigated for arbitrary detention. It is said that the Juventus midfielder was locked up in an apartment in Paris by people suspected of participating in this extortion. According to reports; Matthias was elsewhere in the apartment when Paul was imprisoned.
Mathias Pogba’s lawyer, Yassin Bouzeru, said in an interview with “BFMTV” TV channel that his client did not commit any criminal offense.
