Prediction of “extremely high water stress” for the Middle East by 2040

Tehran- IRNA- The head of Iran’s Meteorological Organization stated that “very high” water stress is expected to occur in 44 countries of the Middle East and North Africa by 2040 based on global surveys, and said: “In Iran, more than 90% of water is lost in agriculture.” and the focus should be on “proper management” of water consumption.
