According to the Mehr correspondent, there is no doubt that the international competitions of the Throne Cup have faced a significant decrease in quantity and quality in recent years, which sometimes calls into question the name and credibility of this event, which has a long history of Iranian wrestling.
For this reason, the Wrestling Federation intends to take special and thoughtful measures to eliminate the quantitative and qualitative decline of the Throne Cup and make it more attractive and efficient as an international event.
This issue is so important for the Wrestling Federation that Alireza Dabir, as the helmsman of Iran Wrestling, recently reacted to it and said: “This year, the Throne Cup will be held in late February and March to separate the time from the Christmas holidays. “But still many countries say pay for the ticket so we can come to this cup.”
According to the secretary, this is while when Iran is going to participate in the tournament, it even pays the registration fee.
The president of the Wrestling Federation announced in this regard: “Now is it good for me to keep this money for the team or should I give money to a foreign wrestler to come? I do not want to pay money for a 2nd and 3rd degree wrestler to come to Iran. “That is why we are in correspondence for this year’s Cup, and we told the teams that we will pay for the food and accommodation, and at least you will pay for your ticket.”
