According to Mehr reporter, the semi-final match of the 65 kg weight of the freestyle wrestling competition of the world championship was held in the city of Belgrade, Serbia. In this stage, Rahman Amozad faced Haji Aliyev, the world champion and holder of Olympic silver and bronze medals from Azerbaijan. Amouzad won this match with a score of 9-2 and went to the finals.
Earlier, Rahman Amozad defeated Joon Suk Yun from South Korea in the first round with a score of 8:1. In the next round, he defeated Ismail Muzokayev, the world bronze medalist from Hungary, with a score of 6-0 and went to the quarter finals. In this stage, he beat Adil Ospanov from Kazakhstan with a score of 13:2 and made it to the semi-finals.
