Replacement of Azadi power cables after half a century/spectator platform will be reconstructed

According to Fars news agency, Saeed Abul-Fathi, Deputy Technical and Engineering Director of the Sports Facilities Development and Maintenance Company, stated: Since October last year, according to the order of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, we have put the reconstruction and improvement of Azadi Grand Complex on the agenda. Many studies were done in this field and we tried to prioritize the available ones.

He added: One of the good things that happened during this period was the replacement of the cables and electrical post of this complex. The electrical system of the Azadi sports complex was related to the early years of the construction of this complex, about 50 years ago, and it caused many problems. Thanks to God, we were able to choose the contractor for this project by holding a tender to replace the cables and electrical substations of the Azadi complex. which is currently active. In the near future, the cables and switchboards of Azadi Stadium will be completely replaced after half a century.

The deputy technical engineer of the sports facilities development and maintenance company stated: The next topic was the discussion of strengthening and securing the 100,000 Azadi complex. Studies were done in this regard and we did many research works. We used project consultants and according to our studies, we put 15 zones of Azadi Stadium’s spectator stands to the tender stage with the aim of improving, strengthening and styling. The call for tenders to determine the contractor has been made and the call notice is available on the site and in widely published newspapers, and God willing, we will try to complete this project as soon as possible by selecting the contractor.

Regarding the bidding process, he announced: The deadline for receiving evaluation documents is from September 30 to Mehr 9. The return date of the documents will be 23 Mehr and the opening time of the envelopes will be 25 Mehr at the Revolution Sports Complex.

Regarding the issues related to the platforms of Azadi Stadium and the reason for the prolonged process of its improvement, Abol-Fathi said: After the last game of the previous season of the Football League, issues regarding the non-resistance of the structure of Azadi Stadium were raised and some videos were published in cyberspace. According to Hamid Sajjadi’s order and emphasis, the engineering team immediately arrived at the project site and various aspects of the issue were investigated. First, we received and reviewed various solutions from the mother consultant who is in the project, and the technical and engineering opinions of other consultants were also used in this regard. The theory that they unanimously believed was that the structure of Azadi Stadium has no problem and only the load on the main structure has a problem, but considering the importance of the issue and that maintaining the safety of our dear people is our red line, in addition to the mother consultant, a resilient consultant We recruited Namam, who has special expertise and experience in retrofitting, for the project.

He continued: “If we were to proceed with the work only with the technical report and diagnosis of the project’s parent consultant, the bidding process would have been done much earlier, but the goal was to increase the lifespan of the structure, and for this purpose, a resistant consultant We hired an experienced musician. Maybe there is no problem with the structure of the stadium now, but in order to increase its lifespan, it is necessary to complete the retrofitting.

He further added: It is natural that the discussion of studies is a time-consuming discussion. More time was needed in order to be able to do basic work based on the recipes and up-to-date rules and regulations. Azadi Stadium was built according to the guidelines and regulations 50 years ago, but now all these guidelines are different. We asked the construction consultant to carry out the necessary checks in the shortest possible time and the tender time was slightly extended because we added the construction consultant to the project and received his suggestions separately and made a general estimate.
