According to IRNA, the letter reads: The election of the president and board of directors of the Taekwondo Federation was held on January 6, with the presence of 57 members at the Persian Hall of the National Olympic Academy, and Mr. Hadi Saei was introduced as the president of the federation with 29 votes. From the day after the assembly, ambiguities were raised in cyberspace and among the members of the assembly regarding the validity of the elections and it was announced that Mr. Hadi Saei had not succeeded in obtaining the absolute maximum number of votes. Therefore, a number of heads of provincial taekwondo delegations have written letters calling for a thorough investigation of the issue and the realization of the right.
According to paragraph 1 of Article 15 of the Statute of Sports Federations approved by the Council of Ministers on 2/15/1400, the election of the President of the Federation must take place by the absolute majority of the members present in the Assembly. Name and voting for the candidates for the positions of the Board of Directors of the Taekwondo Federation, approved on 8/8/1400, the absolute maximum number of votes is equal to half plus one vote of the members present.
Therefore, it seems that considering the presence of 57 people in the assembly and half of this number, which is equal to 28.5. Half plus one is equal to 29.5 votes, and given that there is no half vote in an election, as well as the mathematical rules that the number five (here half) is rounded up for odd numbers, it is clear that the elected president should He received at least 30 votes, and despite receiving 29 votes, the introduction of the president of the federation was against the law and a mistake was made.
It is worth mentioning that this interpretation has been implemented in the Ministry of Sports and General Administration for several years, for example, before and in the elections of the Motorcycling Federation on February 7, 2017, a similar incident occurred despite the higher vote of a candidate in the first round. The election, due to the lack of an absolute maximum number of votes (in which Mr. Maziar Nazemi won 20 out of 39 votes in the first round), led to a re-vote in the second round.
Therefore, in order to protect the rights of the large Taekwondo family, we ask you to issue an appropriate order to stop issuing verdicts and conduct additional investigations and enforce the law.
