Rival or enemy? Mehr News Agency Iran and world’s news

According to the Mehr reporter, Dr. Behrouz Shahsavari wrote in a note for the sports group of Mehr News Agency:

“In this article, we will address this issue, our opponent is our rival, not our enemy. However, during the competitions, the teams always try their best to win and succeed and do not miss any opportunity to get the best possible results and show a healthy and fair competition.

You may have seen many healthy and fair competitions during different competitions, but now I will present an example of the 2021 Asian Volleyball Championship in the final game of the Iranian national volleyball team, which played against the host Japanese national volleyball team.

The Japanese national team, which is the most proud Asian team and has won the most championships in this competition, lost to the Iranian national team in a very close and breathtaking competition with a result of 3: 0.

The highlight of this competition, apart from the Asian Championship and another sweet and heartwarming victory and honor for our beloved country, the culture of the Japanese spectators was very praiseworthy and appreciated, the whole stadium hall was full of spectators and they cheered and accompanied their country team. When serving the Japanese player, everyone stopped cheering and kept quiet so as not to disturb the player’s focus.

The most important thing about this is that they had exactly the same behavior and behavior towards the opposing players, when our players were serving, all the spectators were in complete silence so as not to disturb the focus of the serving player, although the scores It was very close and every point could change the fate of the championship and they also had the privilege of hosting.

But they never made a fuss that disturbed the focus of the Iranian players, which will certainly not be ineffective during the competition.

The Japanese spectators never violated the principles of healthy and fair competition, and by doing so, they taught everyone that our opponent is our rival, not our enemy.

Another example in the competitions of the League of Nations Volleyball, the national volleyball team of Iran went against the national volleyball team of the United States and won with a result of three to zero. US national team coach John Sparrow stood up after his team’s defeat and cheered on the Iranian team. With this move, he showed that we are a rival and not an enemy.

“I hope that this good and worthy culture will be institutionalized in the eyes of our dear spectators, and that we will always see such good and beautiful movements in our country’s sports.”
